Casting with Fast Cast resin - O Gauge Model Railway Platform
New casting video released in November 2018, this shows an O Gauge model railway platform being cast to make a series of parts.
Our new O Scale products where first released in October and as we bring more online we wanted to share how easy it is to produce model railway scenery of all scales using moulds and resins. You can use slow cure resins also, which provide a lot more working life before they start to set, these are particularly useful for lots of small part moulds where you need more time to carefully pour the resin |

Casting with Fast Cast resins
Our New Resin Casting video shows you more details than ever. also our members ask how do we glue these resin casts together, well the best way is good old superglue and the cheap ones from the pound shops work just fine. We do recommend that you buy some super glue solvent though as its good to have on hand in cast you stick yourself to the casts !.
Resins can be bought from a number of suppliers and the one shown in this video is from DWR Plastics as they have good prices and also sell release agents as well as slower cure resins if you want more time to cast. If we can help with any questions you may have please feel free to contact us on the contact form of this website, we are always happy to help |

The first video on casting with Resin
Resin must be mixed by weight at equal amounts of both Part A and Part B, mix in plastic disposable cups, pour part A into Part B as it is thinner so pours very easy, then mix with a lollipop stick vigorously for 20-30 seconds and pour into your pre-waxed moulds until level with the top, do not scrape over the resin as there is no need. within 5 minutes your casts will begin to turn white, within around 10-15 minutes they should be solid white and hard to the touch, I suggest you leave them for 30 mins before extracting. it is as simple as that - also not you need to use super glue to bond parts and you should clean the parts first to ensure any wax residue has been removed. |

This is the second in the series showing a few ScaleCast moulds that where designed for use with Linka products. These moulds contain some fine detail so are a good example of how using resin products you can achieve fantastic results.
